Nature Walks

Nature Walks

USDA Forest Service wildlife biologist Dennis Krusac leads a hike once a month at Price Park, alternating between family-friendly and adults only. These hikes are free and fun; just meet in the parking lot at the designated time. Check our Calendar for the date and time of our next one! Also, follow the Friends of Price Park on Facebook and Instagram to keep up with the scheduled hikes. You can RSVP on Facebook, but it isn’t required. Bugspray and a refillable water bottle are always a good idea. Please leave your dogs at home for these guided hikes. Thank you!

Nocturnal Interpretive Hike: Bats! and Bugs! and Owls! Oh My!

On this family-friendly hike once a month, you can hear his famous owl impersonation, and maybe see a resident owl come and check out Dennis! During the warm months, you can learn about bat echolocation with Dennis’ bat detectors. When it’s lightning bug season, be prepared to see the park transformed into a fairyland! Bring your flashlights.

Adults Only Hike

Due to popular demand, we have added adults only walks once a month. This is the same great fun as the Nocturnal Interpretative Hike, but it’s for the “big kids” only.
